Just celebrated my daddy’s birthday a couple of days ago
and we really loved the food there so I shall be blogging about this place!

with mummy

It’s actually called Takumi Tokyo (the kyo is missing haha)
Mummy had the set while Dad & I ordered ala carte.

This is the 3 appetizers from the set, really liked the one in the yellow bowl.

Sake! This was my first time trying actually,
find it lighter than alcohol with a tinge of sweetness.

assorted vegetables from ala carte, found it okay.

scallops from the set, quite nice!

assorted veg from the set, think this combi is nicer haha

from the set, soup with prawn & salad.
found it okay

ala carte; we ordered japanese pork, reallllyy good.
it’s soft and slightly melts in your mouth

from the set, australian pork, after trying the japanese pork,
you really feel like this one pales in comparison.
Too bad we forgot & should have chosen kobe beef instead!

ala carte; scallops. THIS WAS SO GOOD.
Really worth it, and the “soup” is really sweet too.
All of us enjoyed it, even my mum who doesn’t really like to eat scallops

ala carte, fish of the day (its called brown fish),
this was also very worth it! Was flown in the morning itself,
so it was really fresh & sweet. No need for lemon at all.

garlic rice & miso soup, both ala carte & set.
we found the garlic rice okay only, but the miso soup was really good!
Quite unique & different compared to the ones outside

Desserts from the set.
We found the greentea ice-cream a lil sweet for our liking,
but I really like the one on the left although my mum doesn’t.
Not sure whether it’s puree or I heard it wrongly, but it’s really good.
Mum doesn’t like it because she doesn’t really like dairy stuff.
Generally, I think the food was not bad but the price was slightly steep.
Mummy’s set was 1XX bucks already, and the total bill came out to be close to 400.
So I suppose you would really be paying that price due to the ambience and the service.
The ambience is great because you feel like you’re not exactly in Singapore,
and the service was good too, with the waitress explaining to us what every dish is,
the chef coming out to present the fish & explain to us what’s the best way to enjoy it,
automatic refills of tea & checking with us ocassionally whether the food is good.
So I guess the food might not be exactly value for money (except for some dishes),
but the experience is.
the fish LOOKS SO SCARY!!! hahahaha
haha yeah I think so too! and the skin looks rubbery, but omg when we peel the skin, it was sooooooo good! *drools
